Johns Hopkins Medical estimates that there are 8 million people at least 55 years old at a risk of gettting macular degeneration. They estimate that more than 300,000 of them would avoid advanced macular degeneration and any associated vision loss if they took certain high-dose antioxidants vitamins C, E, and beta carotene as well as zinc or zinc oxide.PakTribune
